Under 12 Performance vs Hartland Girls Academy

Following last week’s disappointment in the cup, the U12 Performance team put in a far more aggressive and accomplished performance last weekend. While the first quarter remained goalless, all the attacking threat came from our side, and the pressure soon told in the second period. A flowing team move was capped off with a calm finish to give the girls a well-deserved lead.

Further opportunities followed, including a shot that rattled the crossbar and a close 1v1 against the Hartland goalkeeper, but the girls remained patient. That persistence paid off in the third quarter when they doubled their lead. With a two-goal cushion, the game looked effectively won as the team controlled the tempo.

The final quarter brought some challenges as changes to formation and personnel disrupted the rhythm slightly. With 10 minutes to go, Hartland managed to pull a goal back, creating a tense finale. However, the girls showed excellent defensive resolve, putting in a shift at the back to ensure the opposition weren't allowed back into the game, securing a hard-fought and important victory.

Our Player of the Match was Isla S & Georgina (Joint Award)! The ultimate defensive duo. Isla was unbeatable, winning nearly all of her 1v1s against a pacy winger, while Georgina provided the perfect cover, calmly mopping up and recycling the play!
