Under 11 Performance vs Montpelier Villa Galaxy Girls

JPL Warriors U12 Green Division

The U11 Performance squad traveled to their fixture last weekend facing a significant physical challenge, competing up a year in the JPL Warriors. The tone was set before the whistle even blew; an excellent warm-up translated immediately into the opening 20 minutes, with our girls looking the sharper and more dangerous side. They dominated territory and possession, playing with a ferocity that caught the opposition off guard. However, football can be a cruel game, and despite controlling the rhythm, a clinical finish saw us go into the first break 1-0 down against the run of play.

Montpelier stepped up their game in the second quarter and found a second goal, but our girls showed exactly how talented they are by competing for every ball across the full 80 minutes. A strategic formation change in the third quarter proved to be the turning point, putting intense pressure on the opposition defence. This tactical bravery paid off instantly with two quick-fire goals to draw the game level at 2-2, leaving our side looking the most likely to find the next breakthrough.

Unfortunately, the opposition were able to find the net a further two times to finish the game 4-2. Despite the result, the girls should be immensely proud of how they continue to compete while playing up a year in such a high-level competition. They proved they belong on this stage, showing incredible heart and skill from start to finish.

Our Player of the Match was Caitlyn. She was a constant threat to the opposition all afternoon, providing some excellent link-up play and clinical composure in front of goal to bag two superb finishes. Keep being you, Caitlyn!
