Under 12 Maroon vs Andover New Street Youth Vixens

The U12 Maroon team traveled to Andover last weekend for what turned out to be their best team performance of the season so far. Facing a side that proved very difficult to break down, the girls showed incredible patience and tactical growth to secure a convincing victory.

The match started as an end-to-end affair, but as the early nerves faded, the girls found their rhythm on the slick surface. The breakthrough came when the team reacted quickest to a rebound, finding space in the box to calmly tap the ball home. With confidence surging, the girls began putting together excellent passages of play. The defenders were rarely troubled, rising to every challenge to block shots and cut out passes before they could threaten the goal.

The momentum continued with a brilliant move starting from the back; a precise through-ball sliced the defence open, allowing our attacker to calmly find the net for a second. Almost immediately, the lead was extended further as a driving run through the middle of the pitch saw the ball pushed over the line to put the girls firmly in control by half-time.

The second half was played with real swagger. While the scoreline remained the same, the girls held their nerve against a determined opposition. The highlight of the closing stages was a brilliant penalty save from our goalkeeper, securing the team's first clean sheet of the season.

The Whole Team was awarded Player of the Match for arguably the best team performance of the season. They took on every instruction and supported each other through every challenge!
