JPL Warriors U15 Purple Division
The U15 Performance team continued their scintillating run of form today, overcoming a long journey to Isleworth and a challenging surface to claim a hard-fought 5-2 victory over Phoenix AFC. This result marks an impressive third consecutive victory for the squad, showcasing the incredible momentum they have built in recent weeks.
Despite the early start and the long drive, there were no signs of fatigue from the girls. They exploded out of the blocks, racing into a 3-0 lead within the first 20 minutes. This clinical opening period set the tone for the afternoon, but it was the team’s collective character that ensured they stayed in control as the match progressed.
As the game unfolded, the difficult pitch conditions became a significant factor. However, the girls showed immense bravery both in and out of possession. Rather than letting the surface dictate their style, they stuck to their principles, consistently trying to play the high-quality football we ask of them. This commitment to their development and their technical game, even when under pressure, was a highlight of the performance.
The development and togetherness of this group is a testament to both the girls and the parents. While the entire squad contributed to the win, there were notable performances from Harriet, Phoebe, and Milly, who each played vital roles in the victory.
However, the player of the match award was shared today between our two centre-backs, Abi and Isabella. Their display was the definition of "bravery in possession," as they never shied away from playing out from the back on a tricky surface. Defensively, they were just as superb, putting their bodies in front of shots whenever needed and providing a rock-solid foundation for the team.
It was an excellent day for the U15 Performance team, whose hard work and team spirit continue to pay dividends on the pitch.
